Biography
At Human Rights Watch, Allan’s role as Advocacy Director for the Africa Division harnesses a deep understanding of the continent’s human rights landscape to navigate the complex advocacy challenges and opportunities. Strategic leadership and multi-stakeholder collaboration were the cornerstones of his tenure at the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation, culminating in strengthened partnerships and funding for crucial transitional justice initiatives across African communities.
With a background coordinating regional responses to organized crime in West Africa, Allan’s expertise lies in marrying legal knowledge with actionable strategies to combat impunity and support victims of human rights violations. Spearheading projects that align with the African Union’s framework, Allan has contributed to advancing the rule of law and empowering civil society, victim groups, and youth in advocating for justice and human rights.
