Introduction
This course provides a critical engagement with the Women, Peace and Security framework in Africa. It examines international and continental policy frameworks, and the challenges that shape their implementation across different contexts.
A central focus is the role of women’s civil society in advancing peace and justice. The course also draws on policy relevant research and African practice to assess how gender justice is pursued in contexts of conflict and political transition.
Designed in response to demand from practitioners, the course equips participants with the conceptual tools and practical knowledge needed to strengthen gender responsive approaches in their work.
