Biography
Dr Thapelo Teele holds a PhD from the University of Cape Town in Rhetoric Studies (law), with a focus on the law’s authority to implicitly inscribe the rhetoric of forgiveness to perpetrators on behalf of victims in bodies legally mandated with truth recovery, justice, peace and reconciliation in post-conflict contexts of South Africa and Rwanda. He is a disciplined, dedicated and passionate rhetorician, researcher and writer. He is committed to a socio-legal analysis of reconciliation, peace and justice in post-conflict contexts in order to understand the lifecycle of violence, and the threats it poses to the maintenance of democracy.
