Biography

Richard Teny is an accomplished development and humanitarian expert with a solid research background and extensive national and international experience. He has directly managed programmes with a funding portfolio exceeding 10 million USD and is well-versed in the operations and reporting requirements of various donors, including but not limited to the United Nations system, BMZ, GFFO, and Global Affairs Canada.

With over 10 years of robust experience in both development and humanitarian sectors, Richard has worked with United Nations agencies, international NGOs, and national NGOs. His approach to strategic planning and resource optimization within the nonprofit sector and government counterparts is rooted in evidence-based planning, system strengthening, conflict sensitivity, and a participatory methodology.

Throughout his career, Richard has played a pivotal role in numerous project initiations, consultancies, and early-stage development efforts—particularly focused on identifying local needs in South Sudan. He is also a dedicated researcher, with particular interest in Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Protection/Housing, Land, and Property (HLP) rights—especially for women and vulnerable households—as well as governance, peacebuilding, and the intersections between GBV, the rule of law, and justice systems.
