Biography
Fatou Baldeh is a gender and Sexual and Reproductive Health expert with an excellent track record as a leader and advocate for women’s health, women’s rights, gender justice, gender equity and equality.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and health and a Master’s in Sexual and Reproductive Health. After a successful career pursuit, she founded the Civil Society Organisation “Women in Liberation and Leadership (WILL)”, as a vehicle for empowering young girls and women to take ownership of their bodies, excel, and lead in creating a better world of opportunities and agency for women and girls.
As a token of international recognition of the impact of her work, she was honoured as a Member of the Order of the British Empire ( MBE ) for outstanding service to migrant women in Scotland in 2020. In 2024, she received the award for International Woman of Courage (IWOC) from The US First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and Secretary of State Blinken in recognition of her dedication to to women’s rights and the fight against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). She also been awarded the 2024 Women’s Rights Award by The Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy
